The Alton Blakley Academic/Technical Complex is a prominent addition to the college campus. The A/T Complex design successfully integrates a variety of vastly different and highly technical program spaces into one facility.
A program space includes those from the community college such as nursing, physical therapy and clinical laboratories. It also contains program spaces for the technical college program: electronics lab, pneumatics/hydraulics lab, conventional machine tooling shop CNC tool shop, CISCO classroom and an AutoCAD lab.
The two floors separate the nursing program on the upper level from the technical curriculum on the lower level, through a two-two storey shared lobby. Additional common areas include versatile classrooms suitable for both programs, teleconferencing studio, student lounge and administrative offices.
*This facility won the 2003 ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Region VI first place in Technology for Institutional Buildings. The award was given to C-S for our innovative Geothermal HVAC system.
